網站與應用程式的隱私權政策
Updated: 2026-10-18
This policy covers the website 1in8b.world and the Android app “1 in 8 Billion”. We collect as little as we can.
Stored on your device
- Your lives (in progress and past), settings, language and theme are stored on your device (browser storage or app storage). They are not sent anywhere.
- A random device id and a random owner token, used for the memorials. They are not linked to who you are.
When you place a life in the memorials
- We store the fictional character’s details: name, sex, country, birth year, age and cause of death, stats, moments, the pixel album, the last message and the feeling you wrote.
- Text you write is checked to remove links, emails and phone numbers. Please do not write real personal details.
- The server keeps only a hash (SHA-256) of the owner token, so only the device that created a memorial can remove it.
When you light a candle, leave a word or report
- The server stores a hash of the device id so each device does it once. Words are one of six fixed phrases.
- Your IP address is used briefly to limit how often requests can be sent, and is not stored with memorial data.
Third parties
The website and server run on Cloudflare, which may keep technical logs (such as IP address and time of access) to run the service and prevent abuse. We do not currently use ads, analytics or tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
Deleting your data
- On your device: delete lives in the game, or clear the site’s or app’s data.
- Memorials: open the memorial on the device that created it and choose “Remove my memorial”, or send its link to contact@1in8b.world and we will remove it.
Children
The game includes heavy themes such as death and violence at their real rates. It is not meant for children under 13. Classroom mode holds back heavier themes.
